Many of you know that I am a strong advocate of education.
I’ve always believed that change starts from the power of information and it breaks my heart when I hear that many in underprivileged situations don’t have this right available to them, especially girls.
October 11 is International Day of the Girl; a day created by the United Nations to let people know the need for action to help uplift girls all over the world. In celebration of this event, a documentary called Girl Rising was produced by 10×10 Org and directed by Oscar-nominated director Richard E. Robbins.
Girl Rising tells the story of nine amazing girls from nine different countries told by nine popular actresses. They are stories of perseverance, hope, and the power of education.
