The other day I grabbed a plain, white bar of soap and inhaled. I couldn’t remember the name of the soap but just one whiff brought me back to my teenage years and the exact place where I used to wash my face with the same white soap in the hopes it would bring clearer skin. That’s what the sense of smell is, it’s a powerful time stamp on your life.

And that is exactly what American designer, business woman and philathropist, Tory Burch decided to capture when she created her latest fragrance ‘Love Relentlessly’.

Tory dedicated her latest fragrance to her parents, Reva and Buddy, and their passionate love story. After eloping in 1961 Tory’s parents claimed they were “mad for each other” and never looked back.

Tory explains how fragrances were such a big part of her life growing up and she decided to create Love Relentlessly to capture those moment in her personal life. Even the name is an ode to her father who use to sign anonymous love notes to her mom in the newspaper with the name ‘Love, Relentless’.

My own thoughts? It’s a lovely scent that is peppery, with a touch of citrus, and a lingering sweetness. It’s an extremely classy fragrance for a woman who knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to get it. Think Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Grace Kelly who were also inspirations for this scent.
