My mom always said that happiness didn’t come from comparing what you had with those of others. In her own words: “There will always be people with more and people with less.” It’s been proven that being grateful for what you have is one of the best ways to live a happy existence.

On that note, I was so happy to receive the Grateful Jar: a little project of Kimi Lu (life coach extraordinaire). It’s a rather simple concept:

1. On the colored paper, write down what you are grateful for that day.

2. Roll it up and drop it in the jar.

3. Open up the pieces of paper at the end of the year.

4. Repeat yearly.

This simple kit comes in a cute green box and only costs 350 pesos. Proceeds from each sale help the Philippine School for the Deaf in Pasay City. I can’t think of a better gift to give a family this Christmas.
