Last week, I was invited to learn more about makeup brand Features & Shades. Held at Unit 27 Apartment Bar in BGC, this event was the brand’s relaunch into the industry. They’ve recently repackaged old favorites and introduced an even wider array of shades and colors much to the happiness of FS fans everywhere. Here are some snaps from the event:

Many of the beauty bloggers I saw at the event were familiar with the brand and were happy to share which products they personally thought were super nice. Julia of Bless my Bag and Nicole of Beauty & Sparkle shared that FS’s blush is a winner.

Even the beautiful Nicole De Los Angeles stopped by the event.

Here are my reviews of the products I was fortunate enough to take home and road test. Descriptions are from the FS Cosmetics website:

FS Powder Foundation: A light weight and non-sticky powder foundation that gives a silky smooth finish. It blends seamlessly with your skin complexion without the need to retouch. Apply with damped sponge for a fuller coverage. Can also be used as setting powder when applied dry. It has SPF35+ PA+++ to protect skin against harmful rays from the sun.

The verdict: I loved the added SPF factor to this powder foundation. I still had to use my trusty concealer in certain spots, but otherwise I felt that this definitely helped even out the skin tone and offered good oil control. I would use it dry for a quick touch up throughout the day.

FS True Light Liquid Lipstick: Color-rich liquid lipstick with vitamin E. Comes with a one-of-a-kind illuminating cap and side mirror that make color application easy, convenient, and fun.

The verdict: Currently my favorite go-to everyday lipstick, it is the easiest to apply in a moving car. The color is super flattering and has ample coverage. Here’s another picture below:

FS Single Eyeshadow: A collection of matte and shimmery eyeshadow colors with perfectly smooth finish. Each eyeshadow can easily be detached and “snapped” on an FS Quad Palette for your own customised eyeshadow set.

The verdict: This shadow is super finely-milled and was a joy to blend on the creases of my eyes for definition.

FS Primer: A lightweight lucid makeup base that flawlessly minimizes pores and fine lines. It is formulated to give a silky smooth finish for easy makeup blend.

The verdict: This primer was a little “gritty” initially, but eventually spread evenly and definitely helped add some oil control to my makeup base.

FS Powder Blush: Matte and shimmery blush-on with Vitamin E.

The verdict: A steal for this beautiful formulation that adds a bit of highlight and healthy glow with finely milled shimmer. No wonder Julia and Nicole raved about it.

FS Mascarade: A definitive bold statement in volume mascara! Its rich formula superbly builds up your lashes without clumping and dragging them! Let your lashes stand out today!

The verdict: Lovely natural looking eyelashes without any clumps. Perfect for a day time look when you don’t want to look too made up.

FS Loose Powder Brush: Made of soft, dual-toned, densely-packed synthetic hair, comes in flat top brush head for quick and easy application, and to seal make-up with a sheer finish.

The Verdict: FS brushes are such a steal for their price. They are super good quality and feel like silk on your skin. I’m eyeing their tempered dome foundation brush next!
